Effigy Mounds National Monument

The monument covers over 2,500 acres and protects more than 200 American Indian mounds.  The monument’s 14 miles of hiking trails will take you past the ancient mounds, through wooded bluffs and tallgrass prairies to scenic overlooks of the Upper Mississippi River Valley.
